Soroptimist International Bath

Our next fund raising venture will be a cookbook with recipes kindly donated from well known local restaurants, including Lucknam Park, The Olive Tree, The Circus, The Francis and a special one from our Charter Lunch speaker last year, Christine Hamilton. We’re hoping to have the book published in time for the Regional Meeting in November, so watch this space for more information. We recently made the local papers after presenting a cheque for £1,500 to Carol Dutton the Regional Care Advisor for Huntington’s Disease Association. The money will be used to support research but also to provide aid to local families. For more information, visit www.hda.org.uk.

SI Bath were very sad to hear of the deaths recently of Madeleine Davis and Ivor Roberts. Madeleine was a past President whilst Ivor had been our auditor for many years and had only just retired. We send our best wishes to their families. But both would have been very happy to know that the club continues its good work – and we raised £1500 for Huntingdon’s Disease. Our book sale on a cold wet Saturday raised £56 for Book Aid.

We are holding a book stall for World Book Aid this Saturday 18th June outside the United Reformed Church on Argyle Street

A small jamjar sent round at our recent meetings has made more than £30 for WaterAid. Amazing how those little coppers add up!

We have raised almost £1,100 for Huntington’s Disease – what a great result!
