A lovely young lady called Alice came to talk to our group about the debilitating disease endometriosis. What an inspiration she was and we learnt so much about the nature of the disease and the fact that I can affect teenagers as well as older women. More importantly it needs to be spoken about and should not be a taboo subject. We should be looking at more ways of highlighting this awful disease.
President Diane gave her time to teach a gentle yoga class to willing volunteers and managed to raise £100 for helping post grad Holly to take a trip to Nepal later this year.
Holly’s task will be to help families start up their own businesses and educate young girls, Part of the International Citizen Organisation, something we Soroptimists feel very strongly about. Holly will be coming to our meeting this January and then later on in the year when she returns.
Yogis at the ready! the best bit at the end!
Thanks to everyone that took part. It really was a fun way to raise money.

Soroptimists celebrated International Women’s Day at the Guild Hall supporting a Fashion Show fundraiser
On Friday the 13th (unlucky for some!) of February, Diane and Gillian with husbands in support took part in a fancy dress Race Night in Chippenham. It was great fun and raised lots of money in support of our charity of the year – Cancer Support for RUH. Other Club members lent their support in the form of donations.
