Soroptimist International Bath and District

We lit a candle at out club meeting last night to observe this special day.

We gave away free books at Chippenham station to celebrate World Literacy Day.  We also raised money for Julian House; people from Chippenham were very generous so thank you very much.  Michelle Donelan, MP came to support us.

Enjoying a lovely coffee with a Sister Soroptimist Hanneke from S.I. Veenendaal, The Netherlands. It’s always a lovely surprise when an overseas Soroptimist gets in touch with us as we have so much in common and we always have so much to talk about.  We also learn from each other and swap ideas.  We’re hoping to meet up with Hanneke on a regular basis as she visits Bath around twice a year.  More cups of coffee then!

President Gillian attended a ‘Skirting Science’ day at Churchill School, Churchill Green on 29th June, 2017 along with members from the WsM club who organised the event. There were over 150 girls who attended the day from various schools in the area.

Many leading companies and female engineers held workshops including the one shown here demonstrating the art of making robots.

Fiona Carr was inducted into our club and presented with a badge at out last meeting.  Welcome aboard Fiona!
