Keep an eye out for events targeting ovarian cancer and how to

look out for the signs of it.  We’ve completed the 50 challenge –

telling 50 people all about this debilitating disease and have raised £66.

A great day to celebrate 90 years with our Friendship Club from High Wycombe and District

Our club has a Friendship link with High Wycombe and District.  This has been made possible because we have links through past connections with them because 2 of our members have been Past Presidents there. The support that we give each other is so worthwhile and it means that friendships are kept alive and ideas are exchanged and causes supported.

Janet Dabbs gave a very interesting talk about the work that is done at Age UK, Bath and NorthEast Somerset.  it was very enlightening and made us aware of what we should be doing to prepare ourselves for later life and also how we can help elderly and vulnerable people.

President Diane presented a cheque to Janet to help go towards the work that AgeUK does in our local area.

We meet every 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Hall and Woodhouse restaurant. Bath at 6.30pm in the meeting room upstairs.

A cheque for £1,100.00 was presented to Zoe Tainton of the RUH which will buy a ‘row of bricks’ for the new Cancer Unit.

This will be held at Bathampton Village Hall, Holcombe Lane, Bathampton on Saturday 8th April @ 7.30 pm. Tickets cost £10 to include a 2 course supper. There will also be a cash bar. Please contact Janet Diffell on 01225 706730 for further details

6 bags of bras have been sent off ready to be recycled within this country or are sent abroad to be sold so that women can earn some money to help them live better lives.  The proceeds that we have already received for collecting the bras will go toward the cancer unit in Bath, a very worthwhile cause.
